Yishai to Visit the White House

It appears the White House is adopting a different approach towards actualizing its demands to halt construction in Yerushalayim, extending an invitation to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Eli Yishai. Amid reports that Yishai is revitalizing the district planning committee’s activities towards the resumption of construction in the capital, the White House has invited the senior minister, undoubtedly to exert pressure on him to step down and halt construction, at the very least during the period of ongoing diplomatic talks between Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority).

Ironically, Dan Shapiro, who heads the Mideast department of the National Security Council, extended the invitation to Yishai. It was the same Shapiro who reprimanded Yishai when the district planning committee released an announcement approving 1,600 new housing units in Ramat Shlomo (Reches Shuafat) during the recent visit of US Vice President Joe Biden.

In statements released to the media by Yishai this week, he stated there is no construction freeze in the capital and there will not be one, taking action to expedite the renewal of project approval and advancing construction in areas viewed as ‘occupied’ by the White House and other Western nations.

  1. Moose613, the only reason that Yishai should go is to bring Rabbi Amnon Yitzchak with him to be mekarev Dovid Axelrod and Rachamim Emanuel.

  2. mOOSE613,I enjoyed your retort, however take in consideration that these two gentlemen who claim they are Jewish, may also be a member of the Eyriv Rav, who left with Moshe Rabeinu. That seems to be the only logical explanation for their behavior
