Holyland Suspect Rabin Remanded for a Third Time

Meir Rabin, portrayed by police as the main suspect in the ongoing Holyland investigation was remanded for an additional six days on Wednesday afternoon by the Rishon L’Tzion Magistrate’s Court. It will mark the third time that he was held over, with Justice Avraham Heiman accepting the state’s request to deny his release on bail, even house arrest.

Senior investigators indicate that Rabin is alleged to be the kingpin in the ongoing operation, having allegedly facilitated the deals and bribes that resulted in the Holyland project receiving the permits to move ahead. Police fear that his release, even to house arrest, will permit him to interfere with the ongoing investigation. Police told the court that Rabin is suspect in 18 bribery cases surrounding Holyland.

Rabin’s attorney embarrassed police in court, explaining that during one interrogation session, a senior investigator placed a photo of Rabin’s children on the table in front of him, seeking to compel him to agree to become a state witness. It appears that to date, Rabin has not been cooperating with investigators in the case.

  1. kingpin”

According to the hiloni press he runs a check cashing service (probably more like a limited service bank than the American check cashing service) which was used by the people accused of making bribes. It appears that he is wanted to be a witness. But kingpin?????

  2. #1 – From all the posts I see from you I can only sum up that in your tiny little perfect world no one can do anything wrong. It’s like nothing ever happens. You really should get out more.

  3. #2- from your post it seems how clueless you are how gov’t works especially in Israel. $$$$$ talks, and that applies to EVERY single member in the Gov’t. The “MISHTARA” and there prosecutor are getting paid off to investigate. My friend wake up and smell the coffee. It is a sad state but its the facts.
