Israel: Civil Service Chief Fears Deal-Making in Tenders

Israel Civil Service Commissioner Shmuel Hollander told members of the Knesset Law Committee on Sunday that he fears there is too much deal-making surrounding publicized tender, admitting it is difficult to monitor the tenders since 30,000 people a year bid on 1,500 tenders and the entire process is monitored by 15 people.

Committee Chair MK (Kadima) David Rotem proposes that a bill be introduced making deal-making towards securing a tender a criminal offense.
