Billionaire Arkadi Gaydamak to run for Yerushalayim mayor

gadmk1.jpgRussian/Israeli billionaire businessman Arkadi Gaydamak announced Monday morning that he intended to run in the next Yerushalayim mayoral elections; which are scheduled to take place in approximately one year. “I have no doubt that the entire city will vote for me,” he said in an interview with Yediot Achronot. “There’s not one person who is not familiar today with Gaydamak and what he is capable of.”

He went on to say that “Jerusalem is a symbol for the Jewish people and I plan to turn it into a symbol for peace and Judaism.”

(It was reported in November on YW (HERE) that he personally attempted to pay the organizers of the “Israeli Shame Parade” to relocate it to a different city.)
