  1. From Our Rabbis, Officers of Torah the Gaon Av Bais Din, and the other geonim Tzadikim of the Badatz, Shlita
    A Call and Warning
Behold we have already notified and warned not to do any wild acts, even when protesting on the desecration of the holiness of Israel, as rabboseinu of the badatz have already warned in 5746 and other times.
Now we have found necessary to repeat that great warning, not to use , chalila, any force, not to throw stones, not to turn over or burn garbage cans on the streets, and not to damage property, because these paths are not the awys of the Torah, and the responsibility is great.
Behold we call on the adults to warn the children that they should not have the audacity to take any of the above action.
We should only protest verbally, to cry and protest and call out against the terrible gezeiros, afflictions and imprisonment of Torah Observant and G-d fearing people, among the lowest of criminals, by the hand of the Government of kofrim, that has used its power and rule against the Da’as of the Torah, and through transgressing of the oaths that G-d has made the Jewish people swear.
From heaven they should see our affliction, and He should have pity and mercy on the remnant that remains to save us with a permanent salvation, when the rebellious monarchy will be removed from the land, and His Name will be made great and sanctified, soon in our days, with the arrival of the righteous redeemer, Amen.
We, the BDTZ of the holy city here, have come to sign, 3rd day of the week of Devarim, 2 Menachem Av, may it sppedily turn over to rejoicing and happiness, 5767.
Signed by 6 rabbonim of the Badatz, plus Dayan Weiss, Shlita

  2. Should put to rest the libel that Torah Yidden instigate violence (as opposed to it is the work of an uneducated few.) Of course the libelers will find other reason to put blame on Torah Yidden as a whole.

I like the part where the Beis Din says when the rebellious monarchy will be removed from the land. Amen!

  3. “by the hand of the Government of kofrim” – I am a nobody – but it seems to me that including the words “of kofrim” could serve to rekindle whatever fiery passions this notice was intended to calm –

because it seems to me that those itching for a fight will realize justification again by seizing on the charcterization of the government “of kofrim.”

and that aside, the call to peaceful protest is most appropriate – the images produced by those who overturn things and cause fires hardly help

  4. I find it sickening that on erev tisha bav people cannot hold themselves back from lashing out at no less than the dayanim of the Badatz

  5. people should keep in mind the eida chareidis was around long beforethe shilton hakoifrim came to being and that the holy jews of mea shearim were there way befor the medina was even a thougt mabey we should think about them for a minute

  6. 6:17-The Badatz’s hechsher service is not the ikkur of this holy organization that is led by the leaders of Klal Yisroel.

Maybe you should stick to doing teshuva.

  7. wsx,

I know its a very difficult day today(although here we have about 20 minutes to go;))), but please be consistent, there should be no lashing out on either side, not today anyways!

  8. Dvorah, Their name, Beis Din Tzedek, should give you a clue to some of their holy work.

Aside from that, they render important decisions for Klal Yisroel (for a small example see the image attached to this YeshivaWorld article.)

torahis1 attack on these Gedolei Yisroel was entirely uncalled for and inexcusable.

  9. guys its just a few bored individuals who are throwing the rocks. dont badmouth a whole people just for a few rotten apples

  10. marbehshalom, I agree with you. It is a few bored youths engaging in this bad behavior. And this pronouncement from the most preeminent beis din puts the rest the lie that it is the frum community who is responsible for this outrage(like someone alluded to before.)

That said I think it was completely wrong-headed for torah-his to attack these great men from the beis din. They are from our peoples greatest leaders, chachumim, tzaddikim, and righteous men. To frivolously and unashamedly attack them like that, is just plain wrong. sayitlike, they should be involved in all aspects of our lives, to guide us in these troubled times!

And in the zechus of the tzaddikim on the bd’z, may Moshiach come soon!

  11. come on guys. a little bit respect to our holy big Torah people. they’re meaning our goods & even the Rashuam the Tziyoinam are giving the Chareidisha people the hell. they’re still trying to behave. its a shame what the Medina HaTamaiah is doing. they’re treating them like the biggest criminals. SHAME ON THEM!

  12. The Dayonim of the Badatz are correct. The Yidden’s response to the kofrim’s governmental instigations should be with Tefilos and in the Beis Medrash.

These are the most powerful weapons in our arsenal. (And that is what the kofrim are most afraid of.)

And in the merit of our prayers and Torah study may we soon see the redemption, the return to zion, and the end of all our troubles from the hands of our enemies–the kofrim within, and of Eisev from outside.

  13. I’ve met many of the Dayonim on the Badatz, and I’ve never met greater Ahavei Yisroel then them.

All their holy work stems from Ahava.

  14. I don’t see how you guess “it boils down to politics” from the above.

I think it boils down to the fact that there is no over-arching Godol or group of Gedolim who commands every frum Jew’s respect. What may make it worse is that it seems to me at least, the leaders of various Torah observant communities are talking to each other less than ever.

It boils down to vildeh chayos out of control and no vigorous universal condemnation.

And regrettably this is life as usual.

  15. esg78, I agree with you! Just because someone doesn’t belong to the Badatz, does not mean they should denigrate these Torah giants.

I would venture to bet that no one here, writing with all their big words, comes even as close to the dust at any one of the Badatz’s Talmeidei Chachomim’s feet in Torah learning, Yirei Shomayim, Tzidkus, Chesed, or Ahava!

  16. torah-his, you don’t take it seriously because you are not serious.

The fact is your comment that The Edah should stick to giving hashgocho on candy bars… is a smack in the face of the Gedolei Yisroel of the Badatz. I don’t think any reasonable observer would interpret that statement any other way.

I am quite confident that the YW Editor had very good reasons to withhold statements from you, considering how malicious the statements you made that did get through the filters!

  17. “Is this because certain Mega-Frum people will not eat something if its ONLY the Badatz hechser?”

Very funny. I suspect it’s the other way around.
