Kavod Hatorah in Monsey

This past Wednesday, Monsey witnessed a beautiful expression of Kovod Hatorah.  A standing crowd only filled the house of Mr. & Mrs. Yitzy Scheiner, hosts of the annual parlor meeting benefitting the prestigious Kollel Beth Medrosh of Monsey.

Mr. Naftoli Silberberg, always the driving force behind the scenes, spoke in his eloquent manner, setting the tone for the evening.

Harav Ephraim Shapiro, Rav of Congregation Shaaray Tefillah, North Miami Beach FLorida, was the honored guest speaker, and strongly encouraged everyone to increase their own Torah learning as well as their support of Torah Institutions.  His beautiful drosha, that was filled with noble Torah ideas and stories from Gedolei Yisroel, embued the audience with a renewed spirit to forge onwards in their own efforts to serve Hashem Yisborach.

A large group came to demonstrate their respect and Mr. Ben Tzion Lebovits whose eloquent words inspired the affair with a renewed commitment to learning and Torah values, and support of Torah institutions.

In addition, the Kollel honored Rabbi Tuvia Hammer,Rabbi Boruch Neuman, Mr Shmuel Shapiro, Rabbi Aharon Subar, and Mr. Moshe Yehudah Wagner, with the Machzikei Torah Awards, in recognition of their mesiras nefesh for Torah and Avodahs Hashem.

The Kollel wishes to express its great appreciation to all who helped to make this event a great success.  There were many people who gave their days and nights in support to the Kollel. In particular, the Kollel thanks the Scheiner’s for giving their house and for the beautiful accomodations they supplied, and Rabbi Zelig Berkowitz, for his efforts to bring this event to frutition.

Rabbi Waxman expressed his respect and appreciation to Mr. Naftoli Silberberg and Mr. Tovia Mermelstein, for their efforts as Chair-menof the event, & Mr. Arthur Sternfield President of the Kollel.

The event was a great display of Kovod Hatorah.  Everyone who participated deserves, in the words of Rabbi Waxman, the esteemed Rosh Kollel, to “be blessed by Hashem with all the blessings of Torah.”
