Israel Sends Medical Team To Peru

peru11.jpgAccording to IsraAID – The Israel Forum for International Humanitarian Aid, an Israeli medical team consisting of six doctors and nurses have departed today for Peru, in order to assist the victims of the recent, devastating earthquake. (On Friday, the Israeli Foreign Ministry gave the Peruvian government $20,000, earmarked for buying tents and blankets for those injured in the quake.)

  1. just to wounder, will the peruvian gov’t ever help israel in time of need ? who cares, they need help and israel offers and helps. where is the u.n. now? just a public thank you will do. when israel tries to defend itself, the world (un)body and mr.carter blow up fuming in nothing but smoke. why are they silence?

  2. at last year’s chanukkah party in theisaeli embassy, there was a big shouting match (over some local political issue) between the editor of the main peruvian newspaper and the wife of the peruvian president …

    in hebrew!!!

yes, it turns out they are both yordim!!!

but the first lady of peru is married to a goy

  3. Waste of time, use the $20,000 to help the Gush Katif refugees in Nitzan who can use free medical help also. Israel, learn to help your own before running off way yunder to help others.

  4. 4. The State of Israel hasn’t learned in its entire 49 year life: It’s useless for Israel to attempt to “build its reputation outside.” The world hates Israel; no matter what it does to look like the nations of the world, the world will always complain and apply a double standard.

So, Israel might as well do what is right for itself, regardless of the international fallout.

  5. while i agree that this seems a waste of $$$ (when will peru vote for israel, against plo, in the un, etc.)

however, dont forget the beni’s to israel: increased trade, etc

for example, remember the israeli raid on entebbe airport 4 july 1976? how did israel air fiorce know the layout, etc? because “sollel boneh” (also known as “zollel ve’soveh”; the original histradrut construction company) built the airport. they just dug out their plans and gave it to the chel ha’avir (israeli air force)!!! (of course, this ignores the fact that idi amin came to israel years before, as an “exchange student”. was israel wrong in doing that? not if you realize that among the “guests” of the american govt were ossama bin-ladin, and fidel castro)

    so i guess there’s a trade off
