  2. It’s a misguided argument. No one claims that someone who serves in the army is incapable of doing good deeds. What our gedolim teach us is that joining the army is not the proper path for a Torah Jew. That doesn’t mean an individual who did serve can’t still do something meaningful or positive.

    More importantly, you seem to be missing a foundational principle of charedi life: we follow the guidance of our gedolim and roshei yeshiva. It’s not about what each person personally thinks is logical or right. Frankly, it’s preposterous for you — who, at best, is a regular Jew — to presume you know better than the leading Torah authorities of our generation.
