Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said the decades-long deepening of economic ties with the United States is over, turning many of Canada’s former strengths—especially those linked to the U.S.—into vulnerabilities, and stressed that the country must now look after itself and one another, as “we are stronger together.”
