Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa has signed a ceasefire and integration agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), allowing Syrian state institutions to enter Hasakah, Deir ez-Zor, and Raqqa and assume control.

Under the agreement, the Syrian government will also take responsibility for border crossings in northeastern Syria.
