The U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet says a fire broke out March 12 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford in the ship’s main laundry area while operating in the Red Sea.

The Navy says the fire was not combat-related and has been contained, with no damage to the ship’s propulsion systems and the carrier remaining fully operational. Two sailors were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and are in stable condition.
