CENTCOM says U.S. forces intercepted what it described as “unprovoked Iranian attacks” as U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers transited the Strait of Hormuz into the Gulf of Oman tonight.

▪️ According to the statement, Iranian forces launched multiple missiles, drones, and small boats at the USS Truxtun, USS Rafael Peralta, and USS Mason during the transit.

▪️ CENTCOM said U.S. forces carried out “self-defense strikes” targeting Iranian missile and drone launch sites, command and control locations, and intelligence and surveillance nodes.

▪️ CENTCOM added that no U.S. assets were struck and stressed that it “does not seek escalation” but remains prepared to protect American forces.
