French authorities arrested a 27-year-old Tunisian man accused of plotting a jihadist-inspired terror attack targeting the Louvre Museum and the Jewish community in Paris.
The suspect, an undocumented migrant, was detained during a traffic stop in the Paris region on May 7 and later transferred to France’s counterterrorism authorities. Investigators say he discussed carrying out an ISIS-inspired attack and had also considered traveling to join ISIS in Syria or Mozambique. He was brought before anti-terrorism judges Monday, with prosecutors seeking his preventive detention.
