The Trump administration plans to name longtime immigration official David Venturella as interim ICE chief, replacing acting director Todd Lyons at the end of the month.

•⁠ ⁠Venturella previously worked at ICE under both Republican and Democratic administrations and is considered an ally of border czar Tom Homan.

•⁠ ⁠The leadership change comes as ICE faces scrutiny over aggressive immigration operations, while Homan says the agency has shifted toward more “targeted” enforcement operations.
