Israel Aerospace Industries unveiled DIAMOND, a new naval combat system designed to boost the capabilities of existing warships without building new vessels. The system uses small remotely operated boats that accompany a larger “mother ship,” carrying interchangeable weapons and defensive systems.

IAI says the modular platforms can be reconfigured within hours and carry systems including loitering munitions, cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, air-defense systems, and counter-drone capabilities aimed at increasing firepower and flexibility on the battlefield.
