Former IDF Military Advocate General Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi has been formally dismissed from the military by IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir over her involvement in the “Sde Teiman” video leak affair.

The case revolved around surveillance footage allegedly showing the abuse of a Palestinian detainee at the Sde Teiman detention facility. Tomer-Yerushalmi later acknowledged leaking the footage despite initially overseeing the investigation into the incident.

Investigators also suspected she attempted to destroy evidence connected to the case by throwing her phone into the sea. The IDF said she will lose senior officer retirement-related benefits, while the issue of potentially stripping her rank could be examined later as the criminal case progresses.
