REPORT: U.S. Navy Resumes Escorting Ships Through Strait of Hormuz

The Wall Street Journal reports that the U.S. Navy has resumed guiding ships through the Strait of Hormuz, with officials saying a Greek supertanker carrying two million barrels of crude was escorted through the waterway off the coast of Oman. The renewed operation, dubbed “Project Freedom,” is expected to assist roughly a dozen vessels, including supertankers and container ships, over the coming days. The U.S., meanwhile, denies the report.
