Syria’s new leadership has reportedly uncovered remnants of Bashar al-Assad’s secret chemical weapons program and arrested 18 people allegedly tied to it, according to a report in Reuters.

The materials discovered reportedly included raw chemicals and munitions similar to those used in deadly gas attacks during the Syrian civil war. Among those arrested are reportedly high-level military, political, and technical officials connected to Assad’s chemical weapons program.
