Monsey: Buckle Up New York Enforcement Efforts

sbeThe Town of Ramapo Police Department is participating in the “Buckle Up New York” seat belt enforcement program once again this year. The program runs from May 20th – June 02, 2013. Officers will be conducting checkpoints in an effort to encourage voluntary compliance of seat belt usage by both drivers and their passengers in an effort to reduce serious injuries or death from traffic crashes.

This program is being funded by a State grant awarded to the Town of Ramapo Police Department. Ramapo Police will continue their enforcement of seat belt violations throughout the summer and upcoming year. Seat belts clearly save lives and with a strong “Click it or Ticket” message we hope to help save more lives on our highways.

In addition to the “Buckle Up New York” program, the Ramapo Police will be assigning additional officers for DWI enforcement throughout the summer months.
