East Ramapo Passes $209.5 Million School Budget


votenVoters in East Ramapo turned out in droves for their second chance to pass a school budget.

The votes weren’t tallied until just after midnight but the $209.5 million budget passed with more than 4,000 votes. “I’m very pleased with the passage of the budget. I’m very pleased with the outpouring support from the community and ready to move forward. The next steps now is to look at staffing and establish programs, we need to looking forward,” says school Superintendent Joe Klein.

More than 2,200 residents voted no. The original vote on the budget was on May 22.

  1. The budget did NOT pass with more than 4,000 votes, There was a total of about 4,000 yes votes… that means it passed by less then 2,000 votes.

  2. Reb Kalmen Weber Shlita is a big asken in Monsey for saving jews from overpaying tax due to unfair budgets.
    Monsey owes him alot of credit….
    May he continue his holy work in good health.
