NTSB Says Data Downloaded From NY Ferry Crash


The National Transportation Safety Board says it’s analyzing recovered data from the ferry that crashed in New York City, injuring dozens of commuters.

Investigators said Thursday that video has also been recovered and is being studied.

The Seastreak Wall Street was carrying New Jersey commuters across New York Harbor Jan. 9 when it made a hard landing. Passengers tumbled down stairs and into walls.

More than 70 people were injured, some seriously. No one died.

The ferry captain told the NTSB he could not control he engines as he started to dock, and they later failed.

The NTSB has interviewed 25 injured passengers.
