“Every Woman Deserves To Know!”

Doctors Stephanie Pistilli and Nancy Vaughns join Trū Ob/Gyn

Lakewood’s leading women’s health group — Trū Ob/Gyn & Birth Center — has recruited two more physicians to join its medical team this past month. “We are so fortunate to have Dr. Pistilli and Dr. Vaughns,” Dr. Clara Surowitz, Medical Director shares, “I have no doubt our patients will love them — as they do all our staff members!”

“But we don’t just pick anyone with expert medical skill,” Surowitz continues, “We look for genuine compassion — someone who does this because she wants to help women get the highest standards of obstetrical and gynecological care.”

“Many women in our communities have gotten used to routine care — being ‘a number’,” Surowitz goes on, “Some providers focus more on the computer screen than on you. But there’s no one-size-fits-all in health. At Trū, the focus is on you.”

Because Trū is different.

A handpicked female-only team of medical professionals and kindhearted individuals —  Trū provides expert care and genuine care to the women of Lakewood and beyond.

On a mission to treat women the way they deserve, Trū is renowned for the way they listen to, support, and treat patients.

“Nowadays, even with the world’s medical advancements, people don’t get much more than a few minutes with a provider” Melissa Youssi, Certified Nurse Midwife explains.

“But it shouldn’t be that way.” Dr. Surowitz continues, “In order to provide real care, you need to hear a patient out. You need to understand the bigger picture — other facets of their physical, mental, and emotional health, beyond the technical details of a medical file. That’s what differentiates personalized care from standardized care.”

A graduate of Ben-Gurion University (BGU) in collaboration with Columbia University, Dr. Surowitz has seen the behind-the-scenes of practices and hospitals over the last 23 years of her career. While she saw much to admire and follow, she also observed much need for improvement in women’s healthcare.

“After working alongside professionals in the field, it bothered me that — at times — patients would get compromised treatment due to “policy” or convenience.”

Dr. Surowitz continues, “When I decided to build my own practice, I wanted to set a new standardCare that’s More Caring ™ — as we like to call it.”

“Women are so busy taking care of their families — they forget about taking care of themselves,” Crystal Murphy, Certified Nurse Midwife notes, “That’s why we take our job all the more seriously, focusing only on the woman in the room, giving her undivided attention. We want her to leave her appointment feeling cared for and heard.”

“Within the last two years, we have revamped our medical personnel and hired culturally-sensitive staff who understand and respect the wants and needs of our community.” Raizy Rosenberg, Office Manager, attests. “It’s a pleasure hearing our patients interacting with staff who consider their work a labor of love.”

“We work hard to keep our beautiful facilities extremely clean and running efficiently,” Raizy adds, “Our on-site ultrasound and lab services are also a great convenience to our patients.”

Surowitz concludes, “Women deserve to be treated with Trust, Respect, and Understanding, and that is what TRŪ stands for — both literally and figuratively.”

Indeed, 14 years in Lakewood — and thousands of patients later, Trū remains true to its mission.

“Every woman deserves to know about this place!” Miriam B. a patient of Trū comments “I used to write my questions down on a post-it note and rattle them off in one breath at doctor visits,” Miriam continues, “because doctors [at the practice I used to go to] were always one foot out the door.”

“That can never be compared to the time and patience you get with a Trū provider — and I haven’t looked back since.”

The high quality and standards of a corporate health organization.
The individualized attention and warmth of a private practice.

The best of both worlds does exist.

Trū continues to improve and advance Obstetric and Gynecological care — so you can feel good — and feel even better about it.

Their office sign’s headline sums it up:
“We don’t treat patients. We treat people.”

It’s about time to Take Care of You ™
