UPDATED: **Israeli Police storm Mir Yerushalayim**

Earlier this evening, approximately 20+ police officers with their sticks drawn, accompanied by horses charged into the Mirrer Yeshiva building (Bais Yeshaya). They sprayed tear gas in the front of the building and the Bochirum were locked inside the building for quite some time. The Bochirum fought back by tossing Shtenders at the police, and the police retreated in defeat. The police then went to the Mashgiach, Reb Ahron Chodosh Shlita and spoke with him. R’ Ahron then went to the Rosh Yeshiva, Reb Nosson Tzvi Finkel Shlita and spoke with him. R’ Nosson Tzvi Shlita appeared outside his home and appealed to the hundreds of angry Bochirum to please go to their Dira’s and not fight back with the police.

They call Israel a democracy? In the entire world police would never think of entering a place of worship. As many of you might recall, when there were a hundred Arab terrorists holed up in a Bethlehem Church a few years ago, the IDF waited patiently for DAYS until they came out and surrendered.

Again I ask: When will these animals – with their Nazi style beatings be stopped?

  1. when you ask when these animals will be stopped, you don’t mean the horses, do you? this may be the civil war that the left has been waiting for R”L. I hope this is not a 21st century version of Milchemta Shel Torah!!

  2. I was in de main building wen this all happened. WOW wat nazis! At least they got a fair share of shtenders in their face! Now they have gone to the Rosh Yeshiva s house, to see if that wil quieten it all down. Very scary! !

  3. Here in the united states a Cop does not enter a shul or yeshiva or church but in Israel they don’t you are right they are animals

  4. Nothing new. Twenty years ago they came charging into Kamenitz found an American bochur from Baltimore who was sick in bed and beat him so severly that he was in the hospital for 2 weeks. Everyone should immediatly contact the US Department of State or American embassy in Israel and ask about their US relatives who are learning in the Mir.

  5. Chief Head of Police met with the Rosh Yeshiva. Press Conference with Reb Aron. 3 female journalists came outside mir, massive protest against them. They just cause more trouble. A lot of damage in de area around mir.

  6. what is going on?
does anyone remember when there where terrorists in a church in bais lech the idf would go in becouse it was a “holy site’
and what exactly is the mir?

  7. The most disgusting thing is seeing hoe people still stick up for the police- Who’se side are you on? The murderous Israeli Gestapo, or your friends and relatives getting stomped on and maimed?
How can one call the police “Animals”? It’s an insult to the dogs!!

  8. THE POLICE WHOE CAME IN TO THE MIR WERE REALLY BEATON UP SHTENDERS WERE FLYING LIKE SNOW BALLS THE POLICE WERE GETTING HURT.THEY GOT SCARED AND RAN.IT WAS A NACHAS

  9. you guys really do need to calm down. I also agree israeli police are biased against haredim but my husband and son were in there being held hostage for 2 hours and this is what happened according to them. 50 or so yerusahlmi bachurim were running from the police and ran to the b.m. to seek shelter. THey threw off their jackets and preteded to learn at shtenders. They are the ones who put “our” children learning in the b. m at risk.Beating the police does not teach our children anything about being an Am kodesh and certainly will not stop this parade. THe charedim instead should have had massive tehillim rallies every night at the kosel and let the Ribono Shel Olam take care of these behamos. and unfortunately the police does not know the difference between the charedi yerushalmi setting garbage cans on fire and my american son learning in the Mir.

  10. this is out of hand. what is the das torah here? are we supposed to be outside the bm or inside learing. we are unfortunatly like unorganized sheep running in every direction without das. no one knoews what they are supposed to be doing. if its correct to protest than why are american bochurim learing? and if its correct to be learing why are the yerushalmys protesting? somone needs to get all the frum on the same page.

  11. The good news is that we’re fighting! And that we won’t let this chilul Hashem take place! Keep fighting! We need Tefilos! Hofgonos! And Siata Dishmaya! Keep it up!

  12. Dear jl, please dont refer to the Yerushalmi bochurim as oponents of your precious husband and son. we are all on the same team. dont blame your families discomfort on other yidden. we are all in this together, this is a disaster for ALL jews.

  13. in response to sfardi. remember the police are yidden last I checked too. my point is that if those 50 bochurim were indeed (and i dont know that they were) doing something wrong like setting garbage cans on fire or whatever and the police were chasing them, running into the b.m. put the pple learning there at risk….my husband said that these bochurim ran int o the bm. threw off their jackets and quickly sat down pretending to learn. THe glee on their faces was like that of a school child playing a prank on a teacher… that is what I have a problem with. if they were innocent yerushalmim in the wrong place at the wrong time than i admit im wrong. but i do not think that is the case. the only way for frum yidden to protest is to silently show their presence and or daven to the Ribono SHel olam to fix things they cannot.Imagine what all this has done to all of out children who are constantly asking what all this is about. Burning down mea shearim and geula is also defiling the kedusha of yerushalyim ir hakodesh.

  14. I always had this question… why by “krieas yam suf Moshe told the yidden HASEM yilochen luchem, v;atem tachrishu, yet by melchames amuleik y”s, HASEM told Moshe to fight a physical battle. Also, by Channuka, the Chasminuim FOUGHT a war, yet by Purim, they fasted to overturn the gezar din(the war was just a tufil)
I think that when we are threatenedphysically, we must PRAY, but we are threatened spiritually we have no choice but to FIGHT PHYSICALLY, by amuleik it says “ASHER KORCHU BADERECH, and we know what Chanukka is all about.
This travesty deserves nothing less than a PHYSICAL revolt against these harningers of kefira etc. Is the world not big enough that they need to bring the toavoh in ISRAEL. Is Israel not big enough that they have to bring it to Jeruselem.
    A shanda

  15. jl, your tone is offensive. You may determine your own assessment of the situation, and that’s fine. But writing “you guys really do need to calm down”, and “the police does not know the difference between the charedi yerushalmi setting garbage cans on fire and my american son learning in the Mir” is setting a demarcation line between “us” and “them”.

If you feel Mussar is indicated here, try to reword your post, in a way that doesn’t separate “haredi” and “yerushalmi”, as you put it, from your own family. This causes more divisiveness, and we need less.

. I also agree israeli police are biased against haredim but my husband and son were in there being held hostage for 2 hours and this is what happened according to them. 50 or so yerusahlmi bachurim were running from the police and ran to the b.m. to seek shelter. THe charedim instead should have had massive tehillim rallies every night at the kosel and let the Ribono Shel Olam take care of these behamos. and unfortunately

  16. you guys are still missing an intergal piece of the puzzle. the police did not just storm the mir. they were chasing yershalmi bachurim who ran to the bm for shelter. They quickly sat down and pretended to learn and thats when the police stormed in…

  17. The truth is, one has to publicise the event for those guys to care.
It wouldn’t be a bad idea to close down Yerushalim until the police back down from harming frum yidden.

  18. A a
thanx for shtellin the raid lol…
its a terrible barrier they broke jus shows how they have no boundarys.. Its sick an scary…!
Was there at the time! lemaysa seeing the hole beis yisroel covered in ppl at 1in the morning some in pyjamas wiv there na nach shluf kaples on.. Was a rockin matsav! Shame it was about these roshaim again forget everythin else hell has jus been turned that bit higher for them for ther major cause of bital torah..
btw it was 100% right to tel those female journalists to go away from in between hundreds of bochurim.. Worried about the press lyin an being antisemitic they any way wil find a twist like they always do.. Theres right an theres wrong……!
Thanx for the updates its a gr8 site.. :~)

  19. First of all, the Gedolim from all backgrounds are united and calling for protests. See posters (in Hebrew) in other heading.
There are public massive Tikun Chatzos gatherings going on.
Second, some must protest and some must learn. Everyone will take to the streets when the “parade” is planned to take place. Yes it is difficult for everyone, not just your husband. He wasn’t beaten, nor is he the mother of a beaten child. Why is there the tendency of Americans to be so cold against their own. Since when do police beat up on bochurim even if they were at a protest? Only in Israel and in China. If they want to arrest bochurim they are strong enough to do so without beatings. Why condone the police so quickly? Every effort has been done to stop it. Jewish, and lehavdil Muslim and the Pope. Obviously, the establishment is not listening. Ever wonder what this really means?

  20. I agree with jl. A chilul hashem cannot be fought by another chilul hashem. I have the zchus to live in Yerushalayim and I am pained by the provocation of the parade and by the violent demonstrations against it. Make no mistake — there is a carnival atmosphere among the demonstrators. It’s as if they are setting up their carnival to compete with the carnival of the deviants. Our tsibbur has a problem with a small minority of misguided youth, and we can’t let them take over the community as they tried to take over the Mir bes medrash. Unfortunately, we live in times where extremist rule the roost, so it’s difficult for rabbonim to condemn violence as that will call into question their authority. I was saddened that the kol kore signed by gedolim do not specifically say that protests should take place without violence. Given the situation on the ground, a condemnation of violence was called for.

Also, I’m no fan of the police, but I object to calling them Nazi and Gestapo. Whoever does that doesn’t know what those terms mean and evoke and unwillingly joins forces with holocaust deniers all over the world, starting with the lunatic in Teheran. It is an example of Jewish self hatred; the mirror image of what we see on the left against us. Police world wide are not known for being gentle. Remember Boro Park incidents.

  21. i was there and here is the story. they beat the frum (and that means yershalmi and us bachurim bec we are together) with a smile.they ran into the mir full of hatred end excitment and we should all be proud of those that through stuff at them .i hope they learned not to ever step back in there again. these hafganas could stop it.All they have to say is, it is a sercurity reason we can not let the march go on and than there will be nothing to talk about. So today eveyone should go learn and daven our hearts out and if they dont cancle it, than tonight is our last chance to make it a sercurity issue, so everyone should go and show and fight for the kavid yerushalyim air hakodash!!!!

  22. Apparently, last nite the police beat up and arrested a mir boy who is a chosson and getting married this Sunday. How do there animals know the wrong people to start with? Parade may be postponed by a week, due to security threats.

  23. “JL” I’m with you 100%. Of course there should be protests but Jewish protests not dangerous ones. Innocent people are getting hurt there every day. Is this the Jewish way???? I know of a women that slipped (on all the oil they throw) the day after and really hurt herself. Why????

Please remember “Yadayim yedei Eisev”. We are taking the ways of the Zionists and adopting it as our own. Our way was never with brutality or force.

  24. The bochrim who ran into the Bais Medrash for cover are from the same group who throw rocks at cars on Shabbos. I highly doubt they do it “leshaim shamiyim”. They cause such hatred among Jew to Jew.
    Don’t we have enough enemies?

  25. rabbosai,
as i sit here reading these posts, i can not help but cry. it is well known that the police hate the charaidim and that we are the most hated group in E'”Y. however we still have to remember that Jl was writing out of love for her child. yes, the police are stilll yidden misguided, but yidden none the less. as we protest and daven for a yeshuah from this toavah, how many of us have davened for and end to the violence between yidden i.e. the chareidim and the chilonim ( police in particular) remember we have them in mind during the bracha of hashivainu avinu l’soraecha NOT in v’lamalshinim. R’ Meir’s wife was correct Yitamu Chataim and not Chotiim.

  26. in response to sfardi. remember the police are yidden last I checked too
    —————–
For the record, some Israeli policemen are Jews and some are not. The police force includes a sizeable contingent of non-Jewish Russians, safek yid Ethiopians, Druze and Circassians. Police informers and plants often egg on or even orchestrate violence started by “shababnikim” and extremists so as to have an excuse to act like the Cossacks that some of them indeed might be.

However, the right way to have gone about this would indeed have been tehillim rallies, with the main one scheduled on the parade route, one hour before the parade was to start.

  27. When Muslim women blocked the Israeli army from firing on murderers, the army backed away even though they were deliberately sheltering these murderers, these women were as guilty as accessories to murder as the murderers themselves in any code of law.
When the yerushalmis ran into the Mir, they were not deliberately sheltered by the others, yet all were subject to being beaten, gassed etc.
Is there something very wrong with this picture?

  28. I was there. I am in the mir. Here is what really happened. Police chased primarily non-mir protestors down Meah Shearim. Protestors fled to the Mir buildings. When the soldiers followed them to the mir, stones were thrown at the soldiers. The soldiers responded by entering the mir buildings on their horses. When the tried climbing the stairs, several shtenders were thrown, successfully thwarting them from further advancing. Soldiers respoded by throwing tear gas, flash bangs, water cannons, and stones, into the mir bais medrash. Several mir bachurim were arrested and their status is unknown.

Over the past week i have seen police randomly targeted various frum jews ranging from chasidim to american yeshiva bachurim for even just passing through the areas of hafganas. I even saw a group of police officerspick up a yeshiva guy, force him away into a van, and returned him severely beaten up. He wasn’t even part of the protest.

  29. jl can i go to rally in nyc outside the israel(yasmnik-nazi) consulate to protest the terrible yershalmis fighting with cops

  30. AntiJl you are so missing the point. All I am saying is those, whoever they are, who are setting fires and pouring boiling oil and the like in geula and meah shearim are not acting bederech Hatorah. If the police need to come into to restore public safety then that’s their job. I know they are anti chareidi I get that…..still it is because of those fleeing bachurim (up to no good) who ran into the MIr to seek shelter who are responsible for last night’s mayhem and bittul torah in my opinion. Also there were those throwing rocks from upper level windows in the Mir at police. There is no need for that. That’s not self defense that’ sakonos nefashos for the innocent bystanders on the ground.

  31. Put it this way if these Israeli Cops are thugs, Come on guys are you going to sympathise with the Jewish Savage Kapo (not those who went out of the way to be amentch)??

If these Cops would try to Join a wester Police force they would first have to be sent back to Kindergarten.

  32. My husband learns in the Mir and although he wasn’t there that night, he was told (the next day) that Rav Nosson Tzvi came out and told the boys that anyone who throws rocks at the police has a din of a rodef.

  33. to jl i didn’t miss the point i think your lacking of a real point and don’t start darshning about the bochrim throwing rocks because the cops do the same exact thing and what the cops do deserve alot more than rocks being thrown at them and until your trapped in a yasam van don’t answer with one of your meaning less lack of understanding views and i believe ravd r moshe shternbach is quite the gadol he was made out to be and he gave his authority for the hafganos so keep the kleanera das (english: small mindedness) where it should be (2 ur self)

  34. to antijl..say what you will. the gedolim gave their haskomos for hafganos..not chillulei hashem and bittul torah… in the end that’s exactly what these guys caused. If the Hafganot were to include such activities as burning garbage cans pouring oil on streets and throwing rocks at police why weren’t the very gedolim issuing the kol koreh taking part in these activites???
