Damage caused to Kinneret beaches over Yom Tov

Damage estimated to be in the area of hundreds of thousands of shekels was caused at beaches on the north-east shore of the Kinneret, apparently by frustrated visitors. Several beaches were not opened to the public because of a dispute between the Israel Land Administration (ILA) and the regional authority over renewed use authorizations.

According to Globes, when visitors discovered that the gates to the beaches were closed, they broke in, smashed locks to the washrooms, smashed toilets, looted taps, burned structures, damaged electricity and water networks, as well as leaving behind mounds of garbage.

  1. So disgraceful, how people act when they are frustrated, stressed-out and losing their cool. Couldn’t this have been avoided, if the dispute was finally ended bt ILA and others? There is always a $$$ angle to all this.
