  1. Interesting concert. Why couldn’t they do it in a stadium where the video recording would have been more professional that taping it in a ad hoc shul on Rosh Hashana.

  2. I was there and can comfirm it was filmed by a Ukrainian non Jewish worker on his cell phone, so you can remove the word allegedly in the title

  3. Allegedly! You are choished one of the 40,000+ tzadikim that were here in Uman!!!! They were Ukrainian workers. You should be shamed and more careful in the future!
Gmar chasima toiva to all of klal yisroel!!!!

  4. Why is it ok even with a Goy filming? One cannot be filmed purposely camera/video on Shabbos/Yom Tov for example security/surveillance. All the more so one cannot allow himself to be “videod” or the like especially here when one might be interested in sending out video. Doesn’t seem right. I assume there was a posek there. Was he asked??

  5. If you ask me they look more like 40,000+ looney kazoonies. This isn’t Simchas Torah it’s Rosh Hashanah. Why does everyone look like they’re high???

  6. a disgrace to Hashem & the yomim nora’im

Chassidish people-or regular, no difference-having a dancing concert on rosh hashana. is this what the shaking day of judgment is about? i’m ashamed to be Jewish if this is what yom hadin is about.

  7. woaaaaa first of all where is the moderator for all the above comments – secondly if this is their way of doing avodas hashem so be it – davening is avodas haleiv – endless shuckling and tears are meaningless if your thinking about how many innings matt harvey will pitch in game 5 against the dodgers – halevei we all can have even a small appreciation for what it means to be the yom hadin but who are “you” to say that a little rikud or simcha is inappropriate!! I have heard so many bizzare niggunim during chazaras hashatz like the popular “ive been working on the railroad” for ain kitzva etc…. lets not be so judgmental

To those saying its assur etc… how do you know they were aware and what did you want them to do? demand he stop filming? what if they asked him and he said no? besides that it has to be meleches machsheves ask your own rav before posting and bashing yiddishe nishamos who on the yom hadin are reaching out to try to get a closer kesher to the borai olam we should all be zocha to see the coming of the geula bimhaira biyamainu and to chill a little bit and not be so judgemnental just because yenam doesn’t do it the way your shul does it !!!

  8. I was there in Uman on Rosh Hashanah – If you had any idea of what it was like? – the dancing was like a spontaneous reaction to the song – your feet and body just moved to the melody.

The Rebbe himself came into us on Rosh Hashanah and flew us to I don’t know where – the land of sweet bliss, harmony, melody and happiness.

You are lucky to have any film of the davening on Rosh HASHANAH!

  9. Firstly to the esteemed Editors – I may go to Uman and therefore may lack reasonable capacity but I can certainly come to this conclusion – using the word “allegedly” in your heading is suggestive that a Jew may have recorded and essentially declaring that any of the 50,000 Jews in Uman are not as Erlich as you,…. that’s a pretty bold approach to take…..

My 13 year old (who was with me in Uman) said to me “I never knew daven can be so enjoyable”

Lastly to the misinformed posters, if you haven’t realized yet…..for all of us who go to Uman from all walks of life and every level of yiddishkiet we all share a common position – we are there to help us connect and we unfortunately don’t share the advantage of being able to channel our tefillos as simply as you……and really if you haven’t realized we don’t care what you think of us –

Rosh hoshanah was incredible! For me and others rosh hashana in Uman undoubtedly sets a special tone for our year.
