VIDEO & PHOTOS: Emanuel Children Visit Prison to Wish Dads a Gut Shabbos

It was an emotional event on erev shabbos when the boys of the Emanuel parents arrived at outside Massiyahu Prison, arriving to wish their fathers a gut shabbos. Understandably, some of the young boys were quite emotional and visibly confused, having never seen a real prison, yet alone arriving at the realization that their fathers were inside, and that they will not be home for shabbos. One of the youngsters asked innocently, “who will sing zmiros with us on shabbos”?

Addressing the young tzibur was prominent Slonimer chossid and Rosh Yeshiva, HaGaon HaRav Meir Luria Shlita, who concluded with shouting Shema and Ohl Malchus Shomayim together with the children. After they completed the tefilos, a youngster approached the rav with a cellular telephone, telling him that his tatte was on the line and they heard the entire event inside. The father explained they are not depressed or afraid, but rather strengthened by the realization their actions are truly a kiddush Hashem and in line with Gedolei Yisrael Shlita.

Other children arrived too, members of the Slonim community from Bnei Brak and elsewhere, seeking to give a chizuk to their friends.

Prominent Slonimer askan R’ Pinchos Saltzman also addressed the children, decrying the actions of Israel’s Supreme Court, commenting “I don’t remember the court acting in a similar fashion when kibbutznikim were in contempt of court for ignoring rulings. Cabinet minister ignore the court daily but only here the judgment is prison. We are not dealing with prisoners but people who adhered to the words of Gedolei Yisrael Shlita”.

They children then danced in a circle, with fervor, singing Yismachu B’malchuscha with police and prison authority officials observing, some overcome with the emotion of the event.

HaMevaser adds that as they headed back to the bus, little Sholom Noach remained, holding onto the gate with all his might, crying bitterly as he did not wish to leave tatte for shabbos.

He woke up on Friday morning to another first; tatte was not there to take him to shul, leading to his pain and confusion over the entire incident.

“We stood there, watching little Sholom Noach holding on to the fence and perhaps, for the first time, we realized the true meaning of mesirus nefesh, to sacrifice L’maan Shemo Yisborach”.

  1. So, so sad. These children now know the Meseiros Nefesh we all should have when it comes to following one’s Rebbe/Rav. We don’t get to pick & choose what we do if we are Chassidim.

But this is a terrible thing to happen. How could any judge do it?

  2. Now are you people finally ready to cast doubt on the “Munchhausen Mother” fiasco? Are you willing to realize that that was a bilbul, plain and simple, just like the bilbul on the Emmanuel parents?

Yeah, I know you’ve forgotten already, but this poor mother, an upbeat and gentle woman whom I had the pleasure (and heartache) to meet several times in house arrest, has not. She has been cut off from her children by this Sdomer court for the next five years for the sole crime of realizing that the doctors are using her child as a guinea pig.

Who knows, perhaps if everyone would have come out in defense of this needlessly and heartlessly torn family it wouldn’t have come to this.

Same goes for the Valles case, where the father was dragged through the mud in order to prevent him from pointing his finger against the doctors who let his child die because it was only a Charedi little scum. This poor avrech “confessed” to a crime he never commited in order to avoid Yenty’s ordeal. Yenty stood strong, refusing to “confess”, and now she is paying the price. She is paralyzed from her waist down from the Epidural she received during the birth of her youngest child (perhaps by evil design, nothing is above those monsters), and she had to fight for her right to go for therapy because the doctors said she must be pretending(!) to be paralyzed. This is only a drop in the bucket of pain and abuse that this woman is going through.

The Chofetz Chaim said Communism was a punishment for not standing up with mesiras nefesh against the gezairah of the Cantonists. Will we be able to say ידינו לא שפכו את הדם הזה? Everyone who gave a hand, or even the benefit of the doubt, to these reshaim, will have to come face to face with this מדינה של גיהנם, perhaps through the lens of the Emanuel parsha.

  3. For the sake of the children do not torment them by bringing them to prison to see their fathers behind bars. Why make them cry? Why traumatize them? Keep them home and tell them that Tatty had to go away and will be home in 2 weeks. Many Fathers in Eretz Yisrael work in the US and commute every two weeks or so. The children do not have to suffer more than they are suffering already.

  4. These names of the Sephardic families whose girls attended the Beis Yaakov Chasidi of Emanuel are: Elmaliach (Moroccan), Beit Yaakov (Persian), Meirav (Egyptian), Naimi, and his son, also Naimi (Iraqi I think), Biton (Moroccan, the Rosh Kollel), Tubul (Moroccan-Kurdistani), Levi (Yemenite), Klein-Hallali (Hungarian-Iraqi), Baruch, Avraham (Yemenite), Lang, Vagshal. Berber is part Persian. Weisfish, part Moroccan. Zaide, part Old Yishuv Edut HaMizrach. Etc.
Many of the Slonimers hail from the ancient Jewish community of Tiberias, of whom some of the Slonimer yeshiva students, who came to study in Tiberias during the late 1800’s, married local Jewish women. That is one reason that the Slonimer schools teach in Hebrew, not Yiddish as their bubbies spoke Hebrew (and Arabic).

Emanuel is physically and psychologically far away for many Israelis. An unlikely place to visit or explore, it was an easy target to lie about.

  5. msseeker, don’t start about that woman. There were CHAREIDI doctor’s against her to. I also know of someone who SAW what went on.. SOME ppl are actually guilty of crimes!!

She was not prosecuted because she was chareidi. She was prosecuted b/c there were witnesses and a VIDEO to the abuse she commited.. Chareidim are not all Tzaddikim and there are quite a few who dress the part but are in NO WAY chareidi on this inside..
This case is NOTHING like that one.. I for one am looking into sending my daughter to a less funded BY so that the state can’t have control over my daughter’s chinuch.
The lesson to learn here is to have more Private schooling so that we can control the chinuch of our kids.

It’s like letting a nut case control your child’s chinuch!!!

  6. To #5 –

I understand what you are saying, but as I live in Emanuel, it is impossible to shelter the children like that – 43 fathers all leaving at once makes a huge impression in such a small place. Several of these men are teachers in the Chassidic school. You can use your idea for isolated incidents, but not one on such a large scale which affects a community so broadly.

  7. Taking a page from our ‘cousins’ – use the children to advance the agenda, radicalize them, and eventually get them to offer themselves as “shahids” in the cause. Once you go down that path, you never can be sure where it will end….
