Jewish Woman Brutally Murdered in Iran

A Jewish woman was murdered by Muslim extremists in the Iranian city of Esfahan, the Israeli media is reporting. The victim was 56, and it appears the reason for the murder is an ongoing effort to take over the family home by an adjacent mosque.

The Muslims affiliated with a mosque located next to the victim’s home have been trying to expand their house of worship. They asked the family to leave the home to permit the expansion project. The family refused, and the head of the household filed a complaint, citing the mosque officials were trying to run him out.

In an apparent response, two thugs arrived at the home last week while the husband was in Tehran and stabbed the wife to death. It is reported they were “brutal”, stabbing her repeatedly. Two sisters of the nifteres were in the home at the time and they were tied up and forced to watch the horrific act.

Needless to say the local Jewish community was horrified and fear additional attacks against Jews may follow as a result.

  1. Terrible, horrorible, brutal, and there is absolutely nothing that can or will be done about it.
Time for all Jews to leave Iran before it’s too late.
My deepest condolences to the family.

  2. eisav sonei yisroel. Jews lived in Persia for many millenia. Haman rose again about 40 years ago and many succeeded ingetting out. Vayakam melech chodosh. There is now a new Haman. Yehudim, get out! Just as many yeshivos and mosdos and organizations wrote papers for the Iranians some 40 years ago, I am sure the same can happen now. The Iranians who made their way to the USA then established a community that is l’shem ul’tiferes.

  3. That is a very sad story, but I don’t think jews should leave Iran at all, like 1,3 and 6 said. they are the only original middle eastern jews that are left with a true Mizrachi (sephardi) mesorah, they should preserve it. America is not any better, its the land of shmad, the big melting pot. they move here, they get displaced, sooner or later they loose their mesorah and minhagim, either to become totaly not religious or to be batel to the ashkenazim. Where is the true mesorah of the sephardim today in America? the gyptians, Maroccans,Iraqis, syrians? its a lost heritage. the ashkenazi monopoly were maavir us al dat, changing our customs to adapt to them or else we wont be accepted. The sephardim have suffered great loses of their mesorah the last 70 years due to the immigrations to Israel and America. There is nothing better than staying in your own native country, Iran is one of the most ancient countries related to judiasm. We feel bad for the lose of life and the brutal killing of this woman, but it doesn’t mean that 26000 jews should pick up and leave. jews get killed in america too, through targeted killings due to monetary disputes, its not any safer here, physically and spiritually… ani hakatan, J.S

  4. Perea adom.
    Baruch Dayan Emes.
but why HORRIFIED? Did they expect payment and cordial relationships from the Mosque and its leadership?

  5. Proud sephardi tahor, I’ve seen documentaries on Iranian Jews, and they feel more comfortable living in Iran than living in Eretz Yisrael. It’s sad, and unfortunately, they feel very comfortable living in galus. They should leave Iran and move to Israel. There is no future for the Jewish people in Iran.

  6. I agree with dogo – my understanding is that they do not allow the Yidden to leave and people are scared even to sneak out one by one (besides the risks involved) because of the possible repercussions on the Yidden left behind

and being affiliated with or rooting for or wanting to go to E”Y is the biggest crime of all in their eyes
