PHOTOS: Underground Parking Lot Fire in Rishon L’tzion

A number of vehicles caught fire in a blaze that broke out during the night, Tuesday night to Wednesday morning 13 Teves 5773, in the underground parking lot on Ushiskin Street near Keren HaYesod Street in Rishon L’tzion. EMTs and paramedics from Magen David Adom, United (Ichud) Hatzalah, and Hatzalah Gush Dan were on hand alongside firefighters and police. United Hatzalah reports 31 victims were treated for smoke inhalation. They were all reported in light condition. It appears the smoke from the blaze entered the building stairwell and began filling the hallways, resulting in the injuries.

United Hatzalah paramedic Ohad Shaked explains. “When I arrived on the scene I was shocked to see find an infant and small children alongside many adults from the building trying to deal with the heavy smoke condition. Together with EMTs we began treating the victims, first distancing them from the smoke and then administering preliminary care. Some were transported to a hospital.”
