BREAKING: Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For Sullivan County On Sunday Afternoon


stoTemperatures in the upper 90s have combined with high humidity to boost the heat index to an intolerable 100 degrees, even 105 degrees in some areas. And a cold front approaching from the west will also increase the likelihood of severe thunderstorms across the lower Hudson Valley. Sullivan County is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 6:45 p.m., and Pike County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 11 p.m. Sunday.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 6:45 pm EDT for Southern Sullivan County. At 6:11 pm EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Monticello. Moving northeast at 30 mph.

Hazard, 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Impact: hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding and trees.

South Fallsburg, Thompsonville and Rock Hill around 6:20 pm EDT. Fallsburg, Wurtsboro and Woodridge around 6:25 pm EDT.

Phillipsport around 6:30 pm EDT.
