4 Guns Missing After American Airlines Workers Lose Israeli Security Officials’ Luggage

Four handguns belonging to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s security officials are believed to have been stolen after American Airlines workers at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York lost luggage belonging to the bodyguards, WNBC TV reported Tuesday.

The suitcase was eventually discovered in Los Angeles, but the four guns were missing — and police believe they were taken.

The bag was supposed to be on a flight to Washington, D.C., where Netanyahu met with President Obama at the White House.

Authorities were investigating whether the guns were taken in New York or Los Angeles.

American Airlines did not comment on the incident.

  1. Umm…if there were guns, now they’re not there, then uh, they might have been “taken”. Airport workers are brazen thieves who remove whatever they like, knowing the authorities will protect them. This is one of the most blatant scams going under the police’s nose, or perhaps with their help…

  2. The Federal Flight Deck Officers (FFDO) program was created after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and has since trained 12,000 pilots on how to carry weapons and defend their aircraft against an attack. The security retinue guarding Netanyahu is at least equally, if not better, trained in firearms use. They should never have been required to check their weapons with their luggage. This was sheer officious stupidity on the part of the TSA.

  3. Why were Israeli security officers flying American Airlines instead of ElAl? Would they have needed to check their handguns if they flew ElAl?

  4. My son’s gold watch was taken from his luggage (yes he should never have put it there) but we all know nothing is safe in the luggage. AND furthermore they will NOT go back and look at the scans so you can prove that it was there and now “poof” its not. To put guns in the luggage is akin to handing them over to airport employees.
