Infant Dies in Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital of Meningitis R”L

candle914An 18-month-old baby girl was brought to Bnei Brak’s Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital by her parents, diagnosed with meningitis. They told doctors she was not responding as she normally does, realizing something serious was going on. She had a high fever and a red rash on her face.

Doctors diagnosed her condition upon arrival as “critical” and she died a short time later following CPR and resuscitation efforts.

Medical Director Professor Moti Ravid told the press those who were in contact with the child will be given prophylactic therapy. The case was reported to the Ministry of Health as the law requires.

Another case was reported on Shabbos when a three-year-old Betar Illit girl arrived in Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Yerushalayim, diagnosed with meningitis. They explained the girl told them she was not feeling well and lost consciousness a short time later.

Two infants were niftar in Bnei Brak on Sunday in a matter of hours R”L.

  1. This smells like a scandal. Did they just come out with a new vaccine or something? There are way too many cases being reported in a matter of weeks.

  2. to boggle – what are you talking about? I know of another case, a little 4 year old boy was niftar 3 weeks ago, diagnosed with a pneumococal meningitis, and anyone who was in contact with the child had to be vaccinated.

  3. @Boggle that’s what the Torah means in vehalachtem imi bekeri. When we explain tragedies as explainable events and not messages.

Meanwhile our generations Holocaust continues, one person at a time.
