US Fuming Over Israeli Criticism Of Kerry

obaObama administration officials are fuming over Israeli criticism of Secretary of State John Kerry’s latest bid to secure a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas.

In unusually harsh language, officials say the criticism of Kerry could put the relationship between the U.S. and Israel in jeopardy. They also say the personal attacks on Kerry cross a line and are particularly disappointing at a time of active conflict.

Israeli media commentators have leveled almost nonstop criticism at Kerry in recent days over his attempts to bring Qatar and Turkey into the cease-fire negotiations. Both countries are viewed by Israel as strong Hamas supporters.

The U.S. officials insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter on the record by name. White House national security adviser Susan Rice is expected to address the situation in the Middle East later Monday.

  1. Poor Obama, it’s not just the evil ‘Publicans who make fun of your administration now (and in Poland they tell Obama jokes).

  2. “the criticism of Kerry could put the relationship between the U.S. and Israel in jeopardy” if only Israel would have the courage to stop the relationship with the US Arab President – who was never Israel’s ally – and do what they should – carpet bomb Gaza and have the US rebuild it from scratch as an island if they want.

  3. Well, if you spit on your friends and tell them, eyes rolling to the sky, that it is raining, you must expect them to spit back and not understand what the fuss is about when you object.

  4. Obama needs something to be mad at Israel about.
As president of the US, he should give out a warning to Hamas to stop attacking Israel. He never would. He is clueless as what to do with the many crises in the world. He is not a leader, only a community organiser. How sad for the US.

  5. . What a bunch of Arrogant people who think they have a right to dictate terms for everybody. First you for e phony cease fired upon us then you force us to live with the attacks that happen as a result of this phony ceasefires

  6. It’s fine Obamanation you can be at odds with everyone on Capital Hill.#1 If you don’t care about the safety and security of Israeli citizens then there is no reason for the people of Israel to be kind to your lapdog ketchup Heinz Kerry for one thing #2for a second thing if the people of Israel can withstand Hamas they can certainly tolerate your existence and hunker down until this lame duck shvartza president finishes his 2nd round and hope that the next one will have a lot more brains and common sense.

  7. Poster:
We may need US $$$, but we also need to be alive in order to use it.

Besides which, Obama doesn’t control the purse strings; Congress does. Seeing as Obama is a lame duck right now (I apologize for insulting the ducks), and midterm elections are coming up, the chances of him succeeding in cutting off aid to Israel are next to nil.

  8. We don’t have to make Kerry look bad, Mr. Obama. He does a good enough job of it himself. ( With a littlt help from you I suspect).

  9. U.S. is fuming over what? That some media commentators have been critical and this is supposed to hurt U.S. relationship with Israel? You mean freedom of speech will hurt the relationship? Boy, are they ever thin skinned

  10. Some very sharp comments above! But right on!
How dare Kerry get insulted? How dare Obama stick up for him?
He goofed BIG time. His proposal, aside from being a finger in the eye, is an insult to human-loving and a caring, sensitive nation at war trying to save it’s people from an annihilating mob of crusaders; a murdering nation of marauders, namely hamas.
    Kerry made a bad mistake!
Prez, just take him on golfing tour # 82.

  11. Israel is the only country Obama thought he can still control (because every other world leader laughs in his face). He’s upset because he sees that even Israel thinks he’s a joke and won’t listen to him.

Let Obama deal with the domestic issues here and the larger issues like what’s going on in Russia and Ukraine, Iraq, Syria and Iran. Let Israel defend it’s citizens without the US sticking their nose into our business. We know what needs to be done.

  12. I guess our President was not aware of the fact that the Kerry cease fire proposal had as one of its conditions that Israel cease all activities degrading and destroying the killer tunnels.A little like a fighter fighting with one hand tied behind his back not to mention inviting Qatar and Turkey( and not Egypt) to this conference.

  13. Obama and Kerry have come up with what they hope will be,
G-d forbid, the “Final Solution” to the Jewish problem in the Middle East, planned down to the the smallest detail, so that there would be no chance of survival

  14. Husein Obama’s message to Hamas:
“If you like your Quasam rockets you can keep them, period.”
“If you like your tunnels you can keep them, period.”

Somehow i suspect this one of the promises Husein Obama is willing to keep.

  15. Kerry screwed up last week. But he and Obama have more than made up for it by their more recent full-throated endorsements for disarming Hamas and demilitarizing Gaza.

  16. These comments are priceless!!!

It looks like Israel may have finally woken up and realized the BO does not have our back.

The money isn’t worth it. I hope Netanyahu is done pandering to him.

Haha, Kerry doesn’t need any help. Still laughing on that one!
