Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan at a ceremony honoring the volunteers of the National Civil Service from the chareidi sector in the Ministry of Public Security said, “The self-confidence of the chareidi tzibur is one of the main goals I have defined for the ministry’s branches”.

In the framework of an evening of appreciation or volunteers of National Civil Service held on Tuesday evening 26 Sivan in Mayan Tzvi, the minister presented certificates of appreciation to outstanding members of the civil service volunteers, members of the chareidi sector.

The volunteers are bachurei yeshiva and avreichim ages 21-to-28 who have completed their studies and are now working in their relative community around the country in which the program exists. In total, there are 700 such volunteers today with some assigned to programs including working with at-risk youths, working as counselors for youths and working with teams of parents seeking to achieve “A city without violence”. Others are assigned to Israel police, the Israel Prison Authority, Fire Service, and other agencies; all tailored to permit them to maintain their chareidi lifestyle.

The volunteers receive a program of training which combines relevant content for the performance of their duties and receive tools that will serve them in the continuation of their professional lives.
