Bnei Brak: It Can Happen Here Too

After sirens sounded in the Greater Gush Dan area on Thursday Rosh Chodesh Kislev 5773 many residents of that area became concerned as how to act and what to do if the rocket fire increases chas v’sholom.

Along these lines, Bnei Brak Mayor Yaakov Asher met with IDF Homefront Command officials and a number of decisions were made addressing an emergency situation. For one thing, the city will increase staffing for its “moked” emergency operator which will be flooded with calls in the event of emergency.

Discussions also included how to activate members of chessed organizations as well as city employees in time of emergency. Public address systems in the city were checked to ensure they are operational.

Officials explained arrangements have already been made that in the event of a crisis, the Beis Shemaya Yeshiva located near Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital will be used as an annex of the hospital to accommodate the situation.
