Arab Violence Resumes on Sunday Afternoon


parMany incidents involving Arab violence began on Sunday afternoon 16 Marcheshvan as the Israeli Arab community nationwide is observing a general strike. The general strike was declared following the shooting death of an Arab male in Kfar Kana on Saturday.

Dozens of Arab youths confronted security forces at the entrance to Kfar Kana during the early afternoon hours on Sunday. Police were compelled to close down the area road as they worked to remove the protestors.

Arab students protested near the University of Haifa as well. They held signs including “The crime– being Arab. The penalty- death”. The students shouted threats of a Third Intifada and accuse Minister of Public Security Yitzchak Aharonovich of giving the green light to kill Arabs.

In N. Jerusalem, a bus traveling on Uzi Narkiss Blvd., near Pisgat Ze’ev, was attacked with rocks. B’chasdei Hashem there are no injuries. There is damage to the bus.

At about 15:30, police reported 17 Arabs were arrested at Kfar Kana as the violence continued at that location. Police officials add that fearing a revenge attack, security agents have been assigned to the policemen involved in the fatal Kfar Kana shooting.

  1. I can picture the mainstream media saying about the featured image, “Look at these poor ‘Palestinian freedom fighters,’ with only slingshots to defend themselves against Israeli discrimination.”
