MK Nissim Ze’ev: Deri is a Dangerous Man

nzeAfter being ousted from the Shas party lineup for the 20th Knesset elections by the party’s Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael, MK Nissim Ze’ev had harsh words of criticism for party leader Aryeh Deri.

Speaking to Walla News, Ze’ev said “I think he is a dangerous person. He is obsessive and this is how he destroys the party. He is destroying us. I daven to Our Creator to save Shas from his hands”.

In his description of the atmosphere in the party under Deri’s leadership, Ze’ev added “The Members of Knesset in Shas do not have hell in the next word for they are enduring their yisurim day in and day out from Aryeh Deri. They will not have Gehenom. I know what it means to have to live with that kind of head”.

Regarding Eli Yishai’s decision to leave Shas and start his own party, Ze’ev stated “He made a tactical error. I told him this all along. He should have remained with us and build the process to a void breaking apart the party and remain a part of it. This was possible with him on board, to build ourselves from within. Most of the MKs are united and Deri could not have broken this up but after he has made his decision and left, I too understand him”.

Ze’ev details that Deri is a one-man army, who makes decisions without consulting with others. “If you want to send someone home who has been serving the public for many years you need to consult with others to obtain an opinion towards determining if the decision is a correct one or not” laments Ze’ev, who adds “We know that he did not consult with anyone whatsoever, including the Moetzas Gedolei Hatorah”.

He adds angrily “He was working as a driver in Maale Amos when I and others founded Shas. Who ever heard of Aryeh Deri? He knew of him? Now to come and grab the party away from me, after 32 years of serving the public! Most unfortunate and the public loses out and will never forgive him”.

  1. It’s all about me me me!!!!

    Fech fech fech!!!!

Everyone is looking on for himself on the expense of the Chareidi public.

The chareidim have learned nothing from the last elections.

Achdus is the secret to win!!!

What a shame!! How much more to we need to suffer?

  2. I heard this morning a interview from this person nissim zev on a Israeli radio he said that deri did like the rabbonim told him he said this words he does ככל אשר ירוך

  3. But yet the “Rabbonim” allegedly begged him to come back. YWN even had pictures of Rechnitz sitting in Deri’s house begging him to come back. Hmmm. Something doesn’t add up.

  4. Yonason Rosenblum reports being asked by former Haaretz editor David Landau how a Yale-educated professional like himself could have become charedi. One of the things he mentioned in response was the effect on him of meeting tzadikim whose lives display such internal consistency and the ability to rise above all considerations of self. Landau, who comes from a family of Gerrer chassidim, thought for a minute before replying, “Yes. That’s the hardest thing for me to deal with

  5. First, one must have some sympathy for MK Nissim, a loyal Shasnik.

Second, this whole tedious Deri- Yishai episode allows me to congratulate the Ashkenazi Haredim on how best to deal with a machloket.

No names mentioned, but it is well known that the renowned Ashkenazi Sage in Jerusalem and the renowned Ashkenazi Sage in Bene Barek do not see eye to eye on leadership and their supporters putting it mildly have often been robust in opposing each other.
But by and large they tend not to let this disagreement get to the secular media.

Forgetting about who is right and wrong in the Deri – Yishai matter, what is wholly wrong is airing the matter in the wider public domain and making at the very least the Sephardi Haredim look silly and worse.
