PM Netanyahu Stops at the Kosel Prior to Leaving for the US

biPrime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on motzei Shabbos Parshas Tetzaveh, on the eve of his departure for the US, visited the Kosel, and made the following remarks:

“On the eve my trip to the US, I came here to the Kosel. I would like to take this opportunity to say that I respect US President Barack Obama. I believe in the strength of the relationship between Israel and the US and in their strength to overcome differences of opinion, those that have been and those that will yet be. As Prime Minister of Israel, it is my obligation to see to the security of Israel; therefore, we strongly oppose the agreement being formulated with Iran and the major powers, which could endanger our very existence. In the face of this danger we must unite and also explain the dangers stemming from this agreement, to Israel, to the region and to the world.”

Prior to boarding his flight the prime minister added, “A few days before the Fast of Esther, I am leaving for Washington on a fateful, even historic, mission. I feel that I am the emissary of all Israelis, even those who disagree with me, of the entire Jewish People. I am deeply and genuinely concerned for the security of all Israelis, for the fate of the nation, and for the fate of our people and I will do my utmost to ensure our future.”

  1. I wonder what gedolei yisroel in Eretz Yisroel say about all this. To my knowledge, they have been quiet except for Satmar who made their opinion known. This whole issue is a שאלה of פיקוח נפש and like everything else must be taken up by the Gedolei Yisroel.

  2. Good luck Prime Minister, and for the people who say he does not speak for you when a radical Islamist terrorist is knocking at your door to harm you and your family don’t come crying.

  3. The fact that Obama & Satmar are so opposed to this mission, proves how correct Binyomin Netanyohu is to forge ahead with this mission, and how inspired Netanyohu was by Haftoro Parshas Zochor yesterday.

  4. Lior- You are the epitome of the problem with the Satmar shitah. It’s not that they are a da’as yochid, it’s that they blind themselves to anything that may contradict their shitah. Everything is black and white. Nothing is good about the medinah. All the yeshivos are in spite of the medinah, or part of some great conspiracy to destroy Torah. The army exists to take frum Jews off the derech. Even the most intense religious Zionists are realistic and admit their are issues, but you close your eyes to the good.

Binyamin Netanyahu is embarking on a very important mission, whether you agree with him or not, but even when he tries to engage in genuine prayer, all you could say is “nice photo op.” You should be ashamed.

  5. #12: I posted this as soon as I saw this picture. I was wondering what took others so long to “get the picture”. It is blatantly obvious. The guy just came from eating his daily cheeseburger and then he is suddenly a “big tzadik” when the cameras are rolling.

  6. I must say I think he’s genuine whether we disagree on some of his policies chareidi draft and others we need to stand by him now. His mission is sacred & the fact that he stopped to daven shows he really believes that Hashem runs the world. Hopefully he can knock some sense into our stupid presidents head & derail this agreement. We should all daven for his hatzlacha.
