Gedolei Hador in Bnei Brak on erev Shabbos 16 Tammuz convened for a kenos to discuss the fears and dangers associated with unwanted technology that is available today. The event was attended by Maran HaGaon HaRav Aaron Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita, HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita and HaGaon HaRav Gershon Edelstein Shlita.
The kenos was held in the Concord Hall in the Torah city, addressing smartphones and internet concerns. Directors and principals of yeshivos and mosdos were in attendance as well along with prominent askanim including Itche Reich, Menachem Shapira, Avraham Rubinstein, Avraham Rosenthal and Chanoch Zeibert.
The decisions reached during the kenos are expected to be released to the tzibur soon. Just last week the Sadigura Rebbe Shlita announced his regulations for those chassidim requiring connectivity to the internet and/or a filtered smart phone.
