Protests and Rock Attacks Followed Fatal Shooting Attack


CQSfVmYUYAAN8o5Following the fatal Thursday night shooting attack in Shomron which claimed the lives of Rabbi Eitam and Rebitzen Na’ama Henkin HY”D, Jews in Kiryat Arba and other areas took to the streets to protest the lack of security throughout Yehuda and Shomron. The IDF moved in and closed Route 60 near Kiryat Arba as the road was blocked to Arab vehicles by protestors.

Scuffles broke out between Jews and Arabs and rock were hurled in both directions. The same occurred at Itamar Junction in the Shomron. The same occurred at Baad 3 Junction in Shomron were dozens of Jews hurled rocks at Arab motorists. Jews also blocked the road to Arab motorists near Karnei Shomron and they burned tires.

Other areas where confrontations took place include near the Gilad Farm outpost, as well as near Ofra and Shilo, with the last two located in the Binyamin Council region of Shomron.

IDF soldiers were dispatched to these areas to disperse the crowds and open the roads.

Near Bitilu, in the Ramallah district, an Arab vehicle was set ablaze during the night and the words “Henkin Revenge” were painted at the scene.

Jews davened shachris on Route 55 near the entrance to Kedumim on erev Shabbos to bring attention to their situation and the dangers that exist due to the deteriorating in security.
