The Israeli Embassy of Israel in Vietnam together with the local Family Medical Practice network carried out a large 7-day humanitarian mission to one of the country’s poorest areas.

A multinational team comprised of over 120 doctors, nurses and logistic personnel, arrived in Kon Tum to offer free medical care and medications, and guide the local medical staff in family medicine including the provision of a modern ultrasound machine to the Kong Plong district hospital.

The mission, carried out by the Israeli Embassy in Vietnam together with the Family Medical Practice – a network of clinics in Vietnam founded by Dr. Rafi Kot, touched the lives of over 8,000 people through the provision of essential medical and basic care.

Kon Tum is located in the center of the country, in a remote mountainous jungle area where life expectancy is among the lowest in the region. As part of the mission, which included also distribution of basic food products and clothing, the Israeli Embassy organized the excavation of two water wells to allow easy access to clean water, renovated the local school and supplied textbooks for the children.
