United Hatzalah is expanding its coverage, adding to the 3,000 volunteers responding to medical emergencies around Israel today.

The volunteers are spread across Israel and the goal of the organization is to have a trained volunteer located on every street in every city, town and neighborhood in Israel. The volunteers that make up the organization come from all walks of life and from all sectors of the population including, Jews, Arabs, Druze, Bedouin, Christians, men, and women, secular and religious alike. The organization and its volunteers are active 24 hours-a-day and 365 days-a-year.

The new chapter in Rishon L’Tzion currently has 22 volunteers, among them are paramedics and EMTs. Among the volunteers in the chapter, eight of them ride ambucycles provided by the organization in order to provide a fast medical response to the residents who live in the city. The volunteers are spread across the city from the easternmost neighborhood and until the Poablo and N’vei Chof neighborhoods on the coast.

The inauguration of the chapter was made possible after a number of new volunteers completed an EMT training course and their extended training, which provided the manpower necessary to provide EMS response to the city’s population.

Another course is currently in the planning stages for residents of the city and will be announced in the coming months.
