Election Poll Shows Netanyahu Gains At The Expense Of Yair Lapid


The latest election poll shows a change from the recent trend as Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Likud lead with 28 seats and Yair Lapid and Yesh Atid follow with only 24. Polls in recent weeks showed Yesh Atid ahead of Likud. Most respondents are not pleased with the prime minister but like the financial plan announced by Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, who heads the Kulanu party.

If elections were held today, Likud would emerge the largest party on Israel’s political map the Channel 2 poll announced on motzei shabbos reveals. The poll was conducted by Midgam Institute headed by Dr. Mina Tzemach and it shows Likud ahead with 28 seats, followed by Yesh Atid with 24. In third place is the Arab Bloc with 13 seats, Machane Tzioni 12, and Bayit Yehudi with 10.

Other results include Kulanu with 7, Shas 7, Yahadut Hatorah 7, Yisrael Beitenu 6, and former Defense Minister Moshe Kahlon fails to earn the minimum four seats to enter Knesset.

When asked if they are satisfied with the performance of PM Netanyahu, 61% responded no while one-third of respondents are satisfied. Regarding the recently-announce major financial plan from Finance Minister Kahlon, 85% of respondents approve while only 5% oppose it.
