WATCH: MK Hazan Tells Mother of Palestinian Prisoner Her Son is A Dog; Hamas Threatens His Life

(VIDEOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

MK Oren Hazan was assigned a special security detail on Tuesday after Hamas threatened him personally following his confrontation with the families of terrorists that took place on Monday. Hazan’s purposeful verbal attack against the families of convicted terrorists was met with widespread condemnation from world media outlets and non-governmental bodies such as the Red Cross.

Hazan, together with other activists blocked two buses from the Gaza Strip that were headed to a family visit at the Nafha Prison near Mitzpe Ramon, where numerous convicted terrorists are being held in an effort to confront the families of the terrorists face to face.

“As I promised, I approached without fear the Hamas bus, which came to visit the garbage they call family,” Hazan said. “In the stormy meeting, I told them that a terrorist’s place is underground. And no, I did not mean tunnels.”

Following the incident, sources inside the Hamas party, and across Arab social media, expressed outrage and threatened Hazan.

Hamas official Fathi Hamad said: “We say to Oren Hazan the pig – our honor hasn’t been trampled. Our honor is beyond any consideration.”

“We treated the prisoners of war whom we captured from your army according to the Islamic ethic and to our values and customs,” Hamas claimed. “Ask Gilad Shalit how we treated him gently and kindly when he was in captivity.”

Hazan said that the reason he participated in the protest and confrontation was in order to promote legislation to cancel terrorist’s family visits until the Israeli prisoners being held in the Gaza Strip are returned together with the remains of Israeli troops whose bodies were taken by Hamas militants during Operation Protective Edge.

Hamas has acknowledged that they are holding two Israeli civilians who crossed into the Gaza Strip, – Avra Mengistu and Hisham al-Sayed.

A Hamas source said that Hazan “will pay for his wild and criminal attack.”

The buses were able to continue their way to the prison following the protest and boarding by Hazan and the rest of the group, but the families’ visits were cut short due to the delay. Knesset spokesperson Yotam Yakir said in a statement that Hazan would receive an extra security detail following his report of the personal threats leveled against him by Hamas and across social media platforms.
