South Tel Aviv Residents Furious on Court’s Order to Stand Down From Deporting African Migrants

Southern Tel Aviv residents and the organizations working for their interests have expressed their anger at the High Court of Justice’s decision to issue a halt order on deporting the African Immigrants who have made the southern part of Israel’s largest city their home over the past decade.

One of the ringleaders of the fight to get the African Immigrants deported, or to at least leave the Tel Aviv area Shafi Paz said: “The High Court of Justice’s decision is a declaration of war against us. The time has come for there to be an end for all of these games, delays and excuses. On Motzei Shabbat we will all go and protest in front of the house of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Israel, Esther Hayyut. Anyone who considers themselves right-wing, anyone who supports the expulsion, and anyone who considers themselves my friend, and a friend of southern Tel Aviv should be there.”

The head of the Im Tirzu organization, Matan Peleg said: “Here we see another example of how the High Court of Justice appoints itself superior to the officials who democratically elected to lead this country. They act like a council of elders whom everyone else has to fall in line behind. This is just like Iran. This is what a golem who attacks its maker looks like. While we have a foundational law in Israel that the High Court of Justice may judge any case they see fit, there is no hint in the law that allows the High Court to nullify laws passed in the Knesset or determine policy. Therefore, we should simply push aside their request to delay the deportations.”

  1. Perhaps Israel Needs to have a Rabbi in it as it is the Supreme Court of the “Jewish State”.
Israel is to be a “democracy” but also unique as a Jewish STate – in the aftermath of the massive destruction of the Holocaust the Jewish people never fully recovered from.
As such they need someone to ensure ordinary Democracy laws As Well As Laws tat safeguard Israel as a Jewish State need to be Ensured.
While empathy should be for Refugees at the Same time Israel is not up for “Sale” to become another African country and no more a “Jewish State”. Shall the millions of African migrant wannabes see Israel now as a new Great detsination away from dictatorship and hunger? Shall ISrael DUMBLY allow its own demise at its own hands??

  2. The decision of the Justices might be different if they had to live in South Tel Aviv for a month before they made their psak,

  3. loving this anything that shows the falseness of Zionism I support, the Zionists destroy the homes of Yidden and Shuls bec. they lack a permit and kick out Yidden brutally but they don’t kick out illegal goyim.
