Draft Notices Were Sent to Bnei Yeshivos – Sanctions are Beginning

idffOn Wednesday 24 Adar 5773, YWN-ISRAEL reported that hundreds of draft notices have already been sent to bnei yeshivos, those who failed to complete the draft registration process in an IDF induction center. The notices inform recipients that failure to complete the process immediately will result in arrest warrants issued against them.

It appears that the sanctions against mosdos are also in effect as the Ministry of Education has sent a letter to heads of “Torani” mosdos informing them of new realities. The letter is signed by the ministry’s head of the Torani Education Department, Amos Tzeida. The letter explains that the new arrangement providing financial assistance for mosdos was extended by Education Minister Gideon Saar until August 31, 2013. The second paragraph adds that financial support for talmidim eligible for the draft will only continue until the draft date specified for the talmid in the draft notice sent to him. That means one a draft notice is sent to a talmid, regardless if he reports of not, once his draft date arrives, funding for him in the yeshiva from the ministry ends.

  1. Maybe these mosdos will start realizing why they should of never taken monies from the Israeli gangsters in the first place let this b a wake up call that money from them means they manipulate and not the torah

  2. If all they do is cut off government funding, nothing drastic will happen.

If they start arresting students, or charging “fines” against yeshivos to be paid out of money raised privately, it will be an existential crisis – and history shows that those who get into existential crisises with the Am HaTorah, usually don’t keep on existing.

  3. HaShem Yerachem! security will be so diminished with the lack of Torah study!
-brisker35-where do you get your money from? tax evasion??
