VIDEO: Romney Understands the PA Leaders

US Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney exhibits a thorough understanding of the PA (Palestinian Authority), an understanding that has ruffled many feathers, especially in Ramallah.

Since the signing of the Oslo Agreement on the White House lawn in September 1993 the world has been pouring countless sums of money into the corrupt hands of PA leaders, first Yasser Arafat YMS and now, Abu Mazen. The world’s yearning to see Israel disappear by creating a Palestinian state has given credibility to the façade called the “Palestinian people”, an entity created by Arafat.

One person unwilling to accept this reality, a reality that is not in America’s interest is Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

“I’m torn by two perspectives in this regard. One is the one I’ve had for some time, which is that the Palestinians have no interest whatsoever in establishing peace, and that the pathway to peace is almost unthinkable to accomplish” he told an audience of supporters.

He goes on to explain the border between PA areas and Israel is directly adjacent to Tel Aviv, “the financial capital, the industrial capital, the center of Israel.”

Romney explained the other side “of what would be this new Palestinian state could be Syria or Jordan. And of course the Iranians would want to do across the West Bank exactly what they did through Lebanon, what they did near Gaza, which is the Iranians would want to bring missiles and armaments into the West Bank and potentially threaten Israel. So Israel of course would have to say ‘That can’t happen. We’ve got to keep the Iranians from bringing weaponry into the West Bank.”

“…and I look at the Palestinians not wanting to see peace for political purposes, committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel…”

Needless to say, back in Ramallah PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) did not applaud Romney’s statements. Senior PA advisor Dr. Saeb Erekat, a leftover from the Yasser Arafat administration called Romney’s words “totally unacceptable”.

Dr. Chanan Ashrawi added “He seems to think of himself as a mind reader since he claims to know what Palestinian intentions are.”

“It seems to me it is about time that he stops pandering to the Israeli lobby and funders by selling out Palestinian rights and by destroying the chances of peace in the region.”

“Such statements are dangerous and could be irreparable damage to American credibility and standings not just in the Middle East but throughout the world.”
