As the government is busy debating the Gilad Shalit prisoner release deal, Tel Aviv Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau Shlita is calling on leaders of the doctors� strike, asking them to grant Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu an additional two weeks to negotiate a deal.

The Rav explained that the prime minister and his senior ministers are quite preoccupied with the Shalit deal, and as such, it is only fitting to grant the two-week extension in compliance with the prime minister�s request.
