As the government is busy debating the Gilad Shalit prisoner release deal, Tel Aviv Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau Shlita is calling on leaders of the doctors’ strike, asking them to grant Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu an additional two weeks to negotiate a deal.

The Rav explained that the prime minister and his senior ministers are quite preoccupied with the Shalit deal, and as such, it is only fitting to grant the two-week extension in compliance with the prime minister’s request.
