The Defense Ministry sent MK Rabbi Moshe Gafni written permission to build a new, reinforced building for the hundreds of students at Chinuch Atzmai’s Talmud Torah Yesodei HaTorah in Sderot, following a question submitted during a Knesset meeting one month ago.

In recent months the hundreds of students enrolled at Talmud Torah Yesodei HaTorah and at the girls’ school have been transferred to temporary structures set up in Chazon Yechezkel due to the increased rate of Qassam rocket attacks. Rabbi Gafni stepped in, asking why there has been a delay in building the new school if the Defense Ministry already pledged its assistance.

The Deputy Defense Minister promised to look into the matter and recently Rabbi Gafni received notice Chinuch Atzmai could move forward with the construction project.
