Israel: Driver Sets New Speeding Record

The 37-year-old driver was apprehended by traffic police over the weekend on Route 70 (Yagur Junction to Tsumach Junction) traveling at 217 KPH (130 MPH) in an area with a maximum speed of 90 KPH (55 MPH). The previous record traffic police report was 207 KPH (124 MPH).

Zevulun district traffic police chief, Commander Jihad Sa�ab reports the driver in custody explained that he just got a new car and wanted to test it out. The �pilot� is now awaiting an expeditious appearance before a traffic court judge.

    The number of fatalaties from car accidents far surpasses the number of casualties from wars.

    I hope they make a good example out of him and put him away for 5 years!
